bringing the pain

Dan Jones

Daniel Alun Jones was born on May 27th, 1988 in Oxford, England. His childhood was predominantly spent living in a variety of different places including Hong Kong, England and Wales, before finally settling in Melbourne Australia in 2000. He is the brother to fellow FSP member Mike.

He attended Haileybury College throughout his high school years, and took a strong interest in Creative Arts and Media. After graduating in 2006, he was accepted into RMIT to commence a Bachelor of Multimedia (Systems), but decided to defer and travel for a year. His travels took him to New Zealand and South-East Asia.

He finally returned after 4 months, broke, but with a fresh perspective on what he wanted out of his life. He was determined to commence his studies at RMIT, and did so in 2008 after months of working to recoup his losses from the trip. He was able to move out and sustain himself throughout the following year.

While studying at RMIT, Dan met with the other members of FSP and formed a great friendship with them. They shared his creative  aspirations. Originally a group of five, they formed Fluffy Sheep Productions to compete in the 48 hour Film Project. The final product of the competition was 'VIN'. FSP was born. Through this experience Stewart and Mike were unofficially sworn in as members.

University was still a high priority for Dan, and there was one such course that caught his attention; Multimedia Engineering run by a lecturer named Peter Burton, was where Dan found his niche. Part of this course entailed using and learning film equipment such as Cameras, Lights, Audio and Visual Software, and also made heavy use of the RMIT television studio. With the guidance of Peter Burton, both Dan and Steve decided that they would pursue their creative endeavors in film and television by transferring to another RMIT program. The Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media. Both are currently in their second year of the course.

Although Dan has been involved in solo film and television projects, he is still very much an active member of Fluffy Sheep Productions, and intends to be for quite a while to come.
